Consumer Reviews
"Hoda did very well with this model. The handling, power, ride are just like what Honda Makes it their other models. I gave 4 stars for exterior styling because I think it is bland. I have added ome chrome and it looks very nice."

"My wife and I have been driving Hondas for several years now. We started with Honda motorcycles then added a Civic, then another Civic, then a couple of more Civics. Then she moved on to an 08 CRV, I moved on to a 98 CRV. Now I get to upgrade to an 06 Ridgeline! I've always been pleased with our Hondas. Minimal maintenance and easy on the gasoline. When we had the civics and I needed to do high mileage repairs they were relatively easy. I enjoy the versatility of the Ridgeline!"

"We bought this truck from a dealer used and we are impressed. It is very roomy and comfortable inside. The ride is nice and quiet. The rear seats offer flexibility by folding up. Lots of storage for accessories in the console. Not too bad on gas mileage for a truck. Very happy overall."

"WOW! I bought this vehicle used in November and just love it. It had 123000 miles on it, but drove like new and looked almost new. I have been getting around 20-21 just like it is rated. I also have a Honda Pilot that is very comfortable and seats 7 and will use when more seating is needed. If I had to take a 3000 mile trip, I'd be hard pressed to chose one over the other. They are both great reliable vehicles. Hondas have outstanding repair records and hold their resale value. If you find one in excellent condition, expect to pay over book. They are worth every penny!"

"Bought from a Honda dealer thanks to cars.com. LOve the ride, the interior design and the comfortable back seat section for a family where everyone is six foot and better.A bit of wheel noise but smooth ride.Great alabaster silver color. The dealer should have put new tires on but that's his loss (I bought two vehicles from them but not another because of that and a little backing out of a price break once we got in the "office").I will buy another Honda,I really like it...just not from them"

"The Ridgeline is far better than any of the three generations of Toyota Tacoma that I have owned, except in one important aspect. Gas mileage, which averaged 16.9 MPG, is terrible. For that reason, my Ridgeline RTS was purchased and sold in only two months. Fuel costs for the Japanese Hummer were more than double the outgoing Tacoma SR5. I paid $15,200 for mine from a private owner, and at 70K miles it looked practically new. For that, I got the most comfortable and best handling truck there has ever been. Since it was so thirsty, I sold it for the same amount a month later. After taxes, I essentially drove it for free for a month, including one long trip. The best features are safety, paint, handling and ride. The most useful features are the large in-bed trunk and the flip up backseat that allows a bicycle to be carried inside the truck. The worst feature other than fuel economy is the 6-disk CD stereo, which is too boomy for most of the music a Ridgeline buyer would actually listen to. The most annoying feature is the 5-speed automatic, which downshifts at every minor interstate hill. The engine has plenty of torque, so these downshifts are unnecessary. I'm really looking forward to the next generation. If they improve the styling a bit and the fuel economy a lot, I'll probably buy another."

"In my opinion the Honda Ridgeline is head and shoulders above all the other trucks in its class. The ride is very smooth. Great on fuel and low on cost to maintain. The Ridgeline was truck of the year in 2006 and could have the title every year. The cost of the Ridgeline has remained nearly the same since introduced in 2006. We really enjoy the Ridgeline. It can handle a trailer very well."

"I bought my 2006 Ridgeline new and have only done regular matinance and changed the brakes once and two tires in 67,000 miles. The gas mileage could be better, I average about 17 MPG. It is very comfortable to ride in and drive. No complaints."

"I have owned many traditional pickups in the past 30 years from Chevy's to Fords. Got tired of driving my F-250 Crew Cab and 13 mpg. Looked at trading down to a mid sized all around vehicle. After reading reviews and test driving I had narrowed my decision down to a Toyota Tacoma. Great pickup, good reliablity, friends have them and liked them. Then I decided at the last minute to test drive a Ridgeline - and I am so glad I did. What a great vehicle. I like the unconventional appearance of the uni-body construction. Always wanted a Honda, I drive European imports and left the truck selection to the standard full sized Fords/Chevy's. This pickup has it all, rides like a very nice touring car. Hauls what ever I need to maintain my home, yard and 10 acre 'mini-ranch'. The hidden trunk is a fantastic idea, lockable, holds a lot. I have the RTL with all the options. I thought I would be driving this only on weekends, but now my four door european import sits in the garage and I love driving my Ridgeline. Honda hit a home run with this vehicle. If you arent hauling a heavy trailer or working where you need the towing/hauling capacity of the big rigs, go with a Honda Ridgeline..........you will get everything you need + the added bonus of a great ride. My friends laughed when they first saw my new pickup until they got in and drove it, they arent laughing anymore and wish they owned one instead. The only reason I didnt give performance a 5 star rating is I wish it got a little better mileage. But with the all the comforts, handling, seating comfort and plush interior - I will live with the lower mpg than I was hoping for."

"The Ridgeline is certainly a different kind of truck with its unibody/rail construction, underbed storage compartment, silhouette (that is cool when viewed in certain directions and clunky in others), and four-wheel independent suspension. It?s not what I call a full-blown heavy duty truck, but most trucks out there today aren?t very heavy duty either. Darn few trucks these days get used as trucks...no mud on their tires, but my Ridgeline always is sporting some. Yes, the bed?s short....no doubt about it, but unlike my previous three Ford Rangers (?real? midsize trucks that I drove for 24 years) I can drop the tailgate, load a sizable stack of 4?x 8? plywood sheets, tie ?em down and have the pile sit flat on the bed. Also, driving them home I do not feel like I am driving over railroad ties when I navigate secondary roads...it?s one solid, smooth ride. Won?t argue that the gas mileage could be better for short, local trips considering that it has a 3.5 L six, but I do appreciate that when I need to accelerate it has all the guts I need (unlike my last Ranger with a 3.0 L Flexfuel six...that truck which I absolutely enjoyed and drove it every day for ten years couldn?t get off a dime if you gave it a nickel and four pennies ahead of time). What else I really appreciate about the truck is that I can load it with lumber, brush, other junk, offload it, and then load up other items such as coolers, my musical equipment, etc. into the underbed storage compartment, lock it up, and have the entire bed ready to haul bicycles and other stuff. I don't need a lockable cap or solid, locking tonneau cover with that lockable underbed compartment. That bed?s versatile. I also may take five tall passengers with me and carry a lot of things outside of the passenger compartment, too. The only thing I wish Honda would have changed in the design is to have separate heavy duty bumpers front and back that were bolted on to the body and not integrated into the body, minivan/SUV style and covered in plastic, as they are. Bumpers take a beating on trucks that are used as trucks, and it requires a little more care and driving finesse to not mangle those bumper covers. Other than that I really feel that Honda came up with a very interesting truck...it?s not for everybody, but it really suits me well. Looking for a new truck that's versatile...give Ridgelines a look while they are still available."
