"The car was very intuitive to become accustomed to. Others that have tried it agree. Keep the design simple and clean."

"Owned many Honda Accords...and the Santa Fe is as good or better in every respect to that car with a much better warranty and price. What more can I say. Honda folks with their rigid arrogant pricing better wise up. Hyundai is coming on strong!! They won me over!"

"I had always owned Toyotas, and was very loyal to Toyota. However, when I compared the Santa Fe to the Highlander, I found that I could get all the bells and whistles on the Santa Fe and paid significantly less than I would have paid for a basic Highlander. When I checked Consumer Reports and found how highly the Santa Fe was rated, I decided to take a chance. I'm glad I did. The Hyundai is comfortable and handles beautifly. I also have to give praise to Hyundai for their customer service. I am very impressed overall."

"When my husband I started talking about purchasing another vehicle (to replace a 16 yr old van) a year ago I remember stating emphatically " I will not test drive a Kia or Hyundai". For a joke he'd point them out over the last year. His mistake LOL because I started noticing the Hyundai Sante Fe's and how nice they looked. When we got serious I started researching all makes and models of various SUV's, CUV's, etc and every time I'd come back to how well the Hyundai was in reviews. We went to test drive a 2007 I found but he didn't like the gold lettering on it and found this 2009 we bought and we were hooked. It is very roomy inside. People are surprised because it does look smaller on the outside until they sit in it. It is the AWD and has the USB port. I love the space available in the back and what I call "hidden" compartments in the back. I have nothing but good to say about this vehicle and Hyundai has won a customer. Even my friends who work for other major car manufactureres are surprised at how well it handles and how nice it is. The best part for me is all the airbags. I feel safe in this vehicle. The downfall is that the gas milage isn't the best but that overrides at how well it does on long distances."

"I've had my 09 Santa Fe for over two months now (and 5,000 miles) and I really love it. Prior to my purchase I spent months researching similar cars and spent countless hours on cars.com! I previously owned a Subaru Forester and wanted a change - something a little bigger with similar MPG. I test drove a Dodge Journey (cool, but felt too big), a Kia Borrego (didn't like the ride), Suzuki XL7 (too small), a Kia Sportage (fun but too small), sat in a Chevy Equinox (very comfy, but cargo space was limited, and drove a Ford Escape (too small). Finally, I drove the Santa Fe 3 times (an ?07 and 2 '09s). The Santa Fe had the best cargo space of all of the above - it being wider and deeper. I can fit my golf clubs straight across the area (mens' clubs may be longer and not fit this way). Don't take the listed cubic feet of cargo space measurement for granted - check out each car! I specifically wanted an ?09 because of the USB port - the earlier models don't come with that. They have auxiliary ports, but not the direct USB connection that makes having an iPod and controlling it fun and easy while driving. Important note: if you want to play your iPod in the Santa Fes with the USB/Aux port **you need a special cable** Do not use your normal iPod cable! I did not find this information in any of my research. These cables are generally available at your dealership, but check online for better pricing. The audio in this car sounds great with the 6 speakers. Buying advice: If you're looking at the SE because it has some additional features, keep in mind that some GLS models have packages. I got my GLS with the "Popular Equipment Package" that includes items such as the steering wheel audio controls, premium cloth seats, automatic headlights, heated mirrors and the trip computer (among other things). So you might find a GLS with the features you're looking for and save some $$. The only things I have to get now are mud flaps and fog lights (but that beats spending a couple of thousand more to get the SE). I like the handling, it's much more responsive than my Forester was and I'm enjoying the V6 and additional horsepower. I may get a few MPG less, but I average about 21-22 MPG. The ride is also much smoother than my Forester (and I have to drive over a lot of railroad tracks!!) and the cabin is very quiet compared to the Forester. The interior features all look classy in my opinion. If you're looking for "full time" AWD, look carefully. My Santa Fe has only part time AWD, but I think some models might be available with full time. I don't think it will be a problem for me, but you may want to do a little research first. I gave this car a 4 for comfort because it takes a bit of working to get the seat and steering wheel adjusted for optimum comfort. Being a bigger person, the seat belt latch is sometimes uncomfortable against my hip. Give the Santa Fe a close look. I don't think you'll regret it!"

"I moved back home to the Great Northland (North West Wisconsin on Lake Superior) 6 years ago and had purchased a Jeep Grand Cherokee. After owning it for a few years I traded it for a car. I had my car for 1 year and decided I had to have a SUV again in this are of the Country. I looked as so many makes and models of SUV's over a period of months. The Sante Fe was on the list but because it was a Hyundai I did not seriously consider it at first. I read all the reviews about the Hyundai but had a hard time believing all the good things out there. In fact, the only bad things I could find was that some other wanted a larger motor with better towing capacity. However, it seems odd to me that someone would be looking at a mid size SUV to pull a Yacht or 30+ foot camper???Towing is good for medium size trailers, snowmobile, bikes, etc. After Driving Jeep, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Chevy, Kia, etc. I drove the Hyundai and was amazed!!! I ended up purchasing the AWD Limited and dont regret it for a moment. It is so much more comfortable than the other models. There is no match in the performance, ride, options or fit and finish. The Sante Fe is better with a much lower cost. I have had the vehicle for 4 months and love every moment. The winter can get pretty brutal living this far North and on Lake Superior. The Sante Fe was sure footed and went through anything as if it was summer driving. Love all the creature comforts i.e Leather, heated seats, moon roof, Dual zone heat and air controls. Love teh AWD system, ABS, ESC. The SUV rides like a dream and does amazing in bad weather. The vehicle is great on road trips to the Twin Cities(MLPS/St. Paul MN). Gas mileage is getting better as it breaks in. About 22 on the highway and 18 in town. I have always been a believer in purchasing a domestic vehicle. The Sante Fe is Korean but is assembled in the USA. I feel better knowing US jobs are involved. I cant say how impressed I am with Hyundai. I am still a little taken back by how amazed I am when I feel good about saying I purchased a Hyundai. I think they are starting to get the reputation they are deserving of and hope they continue to make great cars. Hopefully they will not get to big and proud and scale back on quality like other makes have done over the years. Then covering their shortfalls with PR and past reputations. LOVE everything about the vehicle!!! :-) What a great Warranty. They would have to build a good vehicle to hold that up. It may not be the vehicle of choice for everyone, but it is pretty awesome. If you are looking in this category of vehicles and pricing, you will find it is the best pick by far."

"My wife and I wanted a small or medium sized SUV for long trips. We decided to buy only a vehicle with all wheel drive for driving in the mountains. I did the research and the Santa Fe kept coming back as the best vehicle for the money. I also looked at the Honda CRV, Subaru Forester and Ford Escape. They were all fine vehicles but the Santa Fe seemed a little more solid and had better pickup. Also there was a glut of Santa Fes in my city which brought down the price significantly. The car runs very well and handles even better. I am not crazy about the exterior styling. However, the car is very well built and enjoyable to drive. One more thought: The Santa Fe is larger than all of the so-called compact SUVs but it is somewhat smaller than most mid-sized ones. That makes it a little on the unique side. I like unique."
